World-class skiing is only a 30-minute drive from your Lake Pend Oreille rental. Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort has earned a reputation for being a go-to place for skiing in Northern Idaho. Found in the Selkirk Mountains, this resort has almost 3,000 acres of terrain, which means plenty of breathtaking beauty to take in on your rides.
The mountain generally opens toward the end of November, but this is all dependent on both natural snowfall and the resort’s snowmaking efforts. The best way to keep track of conditions is to check their report for updates.

You have several options for lift tickets, ranging from full-day to half-day tickets. If you know you’re going to be visiting us quite often during the winter, consider purchasing a season pass.

Ski Trails and Special Events
Home to two bowls, there is no shortage of trails at Schweitzer. The Outback Bowl is found just over the ridge and is home to runs of all levels. Head to the top of the Schweitzer Bowl on one of two high-powered quad lifts. For a unique skiing experience, purchase tickets for Twilight Skiing, which takes place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
